FRANCONIA — A suspected serial car thief is in custody thanks to a quick-acting resident. According to the Franconia Police, the unnamed resident witnessed someone stealing from his vehicle early Friday morning and jumped into action. The resident “chased the suspect down the street, apprehended him, and called the police,” according to FPD. Franconia and Bethlehem Police responded and an investigation is ongoing. Neither the resident nor the suspect was named. The arrest follows a rash of more than 50 car break-ins over the past two weeks in Bethlehem, Franconia, Littleton and Sugar Hill, and appears to be connected.
