A new plan where Vermont state agencies will be more directly involve with solving crime is a result of staffing shortages at Vermont law enforcement agencies. The Departments of Fish and Wildlife, Liquor and Lottery, and DMV will now take a more active role in assisting state and local law enforcement with solving crimes in the purview of their agencies. The move is part of ¬†Governor Phil Scott’s 10-point public safety plan presented last week.
